After 50 years humans are going back to the moon. Artemis is the first step in the next era of human exploration. Together with commercial and international partners, NASA will establish a sustainable presence on the Moon to prepare for missions to Mars. The agency's Artemis Base Camp proposal features a contemporary lunar cabin, a rover, and even a mobile home to provide astronauts with a place to live and work on the Moon. Early missions will involve brief surface stays, but as the base camp develops, the objective is to enable people to spend up to two months at the lunar surface at a time. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) who developed the concept in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) proposed a Moon Village in 2019 which is based on a set of habitable modules that can be transported to the Moon separately and seamlessly linked on site in a variety of configurations.

Using the concept of the modular units develop habitable units for the space pioneers to live, work and play. How will these units be built, what kind of material will be used? What design concepts will be used in the interior? What type of spaces would be included?
Today, the International Space Station is used as a research platform to study how microgravity and cosmic rays affect a wide range of objects. Our knowledge of the consequences of high doses of cosmic radiation, particularly on humans, has primarily come from the International Space Station (ISS). But because the ISS is nearing the end of its useful life, it is anticipated that by 2031, US government financing for ISS activities will terminate and will begin the deorbiting of the structure. What will happen to the ISS after this? The International Space Station (ISS) can be converted into a hotel, offering a once-in-a-lifetime getaway to those who can afford passage, or a microgravity laboratory to support the 3D printing of human organs, developing metal alloys, advancing fiber optics etc.

Using the existing model of the ISS propose and develop functions that can be housed within the structure. Who will use these new spaces? What design concepts will be used in the interior? What type of spaces would be included?
